A glorious day in Lakes Entrance set the scene for the first day of the Gippsland Community Leadership Program’s first residential for its 2021 participants.
The focus of the day was for the participants to gain insight into:
- Local indigenous culture and history
- The foundations that underpin effective leadership and communication
- A practical framework to help communicate and self-manage under pressure.
The agenda began with a smoking ceremony and welcome to country at GLaWAC by CEO Grattan Mullett and Cultural Heritage Officer Nicky Moffat who both provided the group with insight into Gippsland’s Indigenous history.
Throughout the day the group was treated to a diverse range of speakers and presenters (all leaders in their field) including:
- David Watts
- Leah Mether
- Jane Oakley
