Program Structure

GCLP is conducted over 10 months (February to November) and involves 21 days of group activities –

  • Program Introduction and Launch
  • 3 x two day residentials (throughout Gippsland)
  • 1 x two day trip to Melbourne (State Parliament)
  • 1 x five day trip to Canberra (Federal Parliament)
  • 9 x one day program days (different locations and themes in Gippsland)

Learnings take many forms, including experiential, theoretical, reflective and observational. Participants undertake group projects, write and reflect in a learning journal, speak publicly, discuss privately, question and probe each other and our guest speakers. 

Participants

Participants are encouraged to grow their leadership skills by –

  • finding their voice and setting a positive example
  • envisioning a future and enlisting others
  • searching for opportunities, experimenting and taking risks
  • fostering collaboration and strengthening others
  • recognising contributions and celebrating values and victories
